Salary: NJC Grade F - £34,314 - £37,938 FTE (This will be paid pro-rata to reflect hours and weeks worked)

Working Pattern: This is a fixed term, full time position working 37 hours per week, 42 weeks per year

As part of the Pilton Community College ethos of providing an aspirational education to every pupil, we are looking for a creative and enthusiastic individual to play a key role in developing our ‘Pilton Community Farm Project’ (PCFP).

The PCFP is part of our broad and balanced curriculum, enabling the College to be a meaningful educational setting for a greater number of young people. It will provide important environmental education to all of our pupils in the College, as well as providing an opportunity for some pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) to study agricultural or construction-based qualifications.

The postholder will be based in our team at Pilton Community College, Barnstaple, and have the ability to run a small farming enterprise. The Pilton College Farm Lead Practitioner will maintain and develop the educational delivery of the farm and ensure the site is used safely.

The postholder will undertake farming sessions with young people, developing positive relationships with them and helping them to feel a sense of achievement through gaining land-based qualifications or through other meaningful activities.
