Salary: MPS - UPS - £32,916 - £51,048 FTE (This will be paid pro-rata to reflect hours and weeks worked) + TLR2D allowance available for the right candidate

Working Pattern: This is a permanent position working 1.0 FTE, 39 weeks per year.

About the Role

As Head of PE, you will:

  • Lead a high-performing PE department with passion, expertise, and strategic direction.
  • Shape a curriculum that excites, challenges, and supports students of all abilities.
  • Champion a culture where physical activity, resilience, teamwork and healthy lifestyles are integral to school life.
  • Oversee extracurricular sport, fixtures, teams, and whole-school health initiatives.
  • Coach and develop staff, ensuring high-quality teaching and outstanding outcomes.
  • Build strong community and club partnerships to enhance opportunities for all pupils.

The role requires the postholder to line manage the School Sports Coordinator role by overseeing programme delivery, supporting staff, and ensuring high-quality sporting opportunities for all students as part of the PE department’s strategic goals.
